“JURONG : A JEWEL IN THE WEST”
Untapped Potential - The 360ha Jurong Lake District is one of three regional centres under the Concept Plan that is deemed an ideal location for commercial development outside the city centre. The aim is to cater to the diverse needs of businesses and to create more job opportunities.
Jurong Lake District is well connected to other parts of Singapore by 2 major expressways (PIE and AYE), 2 major MRT lines (North-South and East-West), 3 MRT stations and a bus interchange. It is also about 20 minutes away from the CBD and the Tuas Second Link.
Capitalising on Natural Assets
With a scenic lakeside setting and various gardens right within, Jurong Lake District is the only regional centre that has such natural assets, offering Singaporeans and visitors a brand new experience. Being the biggest commercial hub outside the city centre, and equipped with the lake and lovely greenery, the Jurong Lake District will be transformed into a much sought after destination for business and leisure.
Jurong Lake District consists of two precincts:
JURONG GATEWAY – The Vibrant Commercial Hub
Spanning an area of 70ha, Jurong Gateway will provide 500,000 sqm of office space and 250,000 sqm of retail, hotel, entertainment and food & beverage (F&B) space. In addition to the good mix of businesses and attractions, at least 1,000 new homes will also be added so as to create more opportunities to live and work in the same area.
Look forward to seamless connections at Jurong Gateway. From Jurong East MRT station, pedestrians can walk conveniently in all-weather comfortably to most developments and public facilities around the area through an extensive network of walkways. Likewise, buildings around Jurong East MRT Station will step down towards the lake, allowing pedestrians to stroll to attractions at Jurong Lake area while enjoying panoramic views of the waters through a new pedestrian walkway.
LAKESIDE WATERFRONT PLAYGROUND
– New Thrills by the Lake
Spread over 220ha of land and 70ha of water, Lakeside is envisioned to be developed into a major leisure attraction for both Singaporeans and tourists. Look forward to new parks, more water activities, improved promenades and etc.
A new lakeside village will be developed at the fringe of Jurong Lake.
Imagine an intimate street-based, low-rise development on the newly created island by the lake. There will be F&B, retail, boutique hotels and entertainment. This will be the natural place for business get-togethers or after-work dinner and drinks, as it will be an easy 10-minute stroll from Jurong Gateway via the landscaped, sheltered walkways.
The new world class Science Centre will be developed next to Lakeside MRT Station within the next few years.
